LUCIA S. HEGYI, Hungarian fashion designer, honored by the Knight’s Cross of the Order of Merit, the creative director and head designer of Luan by Lucia, the tutor of the Lucia Fashion Academy, and the head counselor of the Luan Lélek-Forma Studio and Soul Branding program. Her mission is to help customers achieve inner and external harmony in their lives, to preserve traditional Hungarian craftsmanship values and to support young talents.
In 1986, she became a member of the Hungarian Foundation of Art. In collaboration with Andor Kovács, she established "Luan" as a brand name and their first store was opened in Budapest.
In 1990, the Lucia Studio Ltd. was established with the objective to guide Hungarian fashion back to its right path. The brand is recognized by the industry on a local and international stage. Luan by Lucia is well known for being an atelier of premium category clothing, and for tailoring highly precise made-to-measure women’s wear.
In 1992, she designed the Hungarian team’s uniform for the Barcelona Olympic Games. In 1997, along with her husband, Béla Sümeghy, she also designed the costumes of the popular Hungarian movie, A miniszter félrelép (The minister's affair).
Lucia participated on several international events: the Offline Fashion Week of Vienna, Mode Woche in Munich, and Igedo of Düsseldorf, and her name has also been mentioned in articles of famous international magazines, such as the Los Angeles Times, Stern, Brigitte, Le Figaro, Collezioni Donna, Le Journalist and Draper’s Records WWB.
